Insomnia- Memphis Benedict

Mar 18 `17 Insomnia

The meal: ***

RaspberryCream and I shared a pear grilled cheese sandwich while waiting for the Memphis benedict and oven baked pancakes. This was my first time trying a pear grilled sandwich (pear, brie, cheddar, honey roasted pear) but was not impressed as the toast overwhelmed all the other ingredients. The salad and potatoes that came with the dish were more exciting which says a lot. Maybe my expectations were too high. RaspberryCream did mention that there are better pear grilled sandwiches elsewhere. If you happen to know of any spots, please do leave a comment.

As for the Memphis Benedict, my purpose of the visit, it did not let me down. The dish came with a side of greens and home fries with Insomnia’s legendary (ketchup based) sauce. It was just as delicious as it looks in the picture. Blend of flavours was just right and the pork was tender as saucy

The place: **

This restaurant is quite popular so expect a 30 mins minimum wait time at peak hours (10am onward). It has a bar feel to it in the sense that it’s loud from all the conversations, the lightsare dim and there’s a bar with seats if you just fancy a drink. The space on the table we were seated was quite limited.

The price: $
